About the Amerikazentrum

The Amerikazentrum Hamburg is a binational cultural institute that supports German-American educational and cultural exchange through its work.

It is supported by the non-profit association Amerikazentrum Hamburg e. V., which was founded after the closure of the traditional Amerika-Haus in 1997.

The association receives support from the U.S. Embassy and the Auswärtige Amt.

Our activities focus on cultural events, such as lectures and discussions on current political and social issues in the transatlantic dialog. Many of these events, which have been held at various locations since the closure of our long-time Hamburg location at Am Sandtorkai, are organized in close cooperation with other cultural institutions, the U.S. Consulate General in Hamburg and the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.
