On January 20, 2025, Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States of America. This will be his second term after holding the office from 2017 to 2021.

What does his return mean for transatlantic relations and can we already make predictions about the direction U.S. Foreign Policy will take?
In conversation with Kapitän zur See Dr. André Pecher, the former U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Douglas E. Lute will give his assessment
on the future of the Transatlantic Stability, U.S. Foreign Policy and Security Partnerships.

The event is part of the U.S. Election Speaker Series, which is organized in cooperation with the Aspen Institute Germany and the Association of German-American Centers (AGAC), of which the Amerikazentrum Hamburg is a founding member. The event is a cooperation of the Amerikazentrum Hamburg, GIDS – German Institute for Defence and Strategic Studies and the Deutsche Atlantische Gesellschaft. It is kindly supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
